I was born and raised here in Mývatn, Iceland. My childhood was simply yet educational and full of adventures on our farm.
My parents, relatives and ancestors passed on their knowledge about the nature that surrounds us, life at the lake and it´s traditions, to me. I am very grateful for that.
My education as a landscaper and many years as a tour and travel guide are further important milestones for my current way of life.
My interest in people, cultures and traditions made me decide to share my knowledge with my guests: learning from each other and living together.

I was born and raised in Austria. The Tyrolean mountains and forests have been my playground since childhood, where I experienced the greatest adventures.
As an adult I have climbed mountains, seen the wideness, felt the freedom, sensed life. I became increasingly interested in the use of plants and herbs from my area. I taught myself the craft with a wide variety of natural materials.
I owe this special connection to nature and the sustainable use of it to my grandfather.
Thanks to my trip to Iceland, I am now the partner of a wonderful man, a kindergarten teacher, an artist and a host. I have completely found myself .
Together we built our new house with great attention to detail and in harmony with the nature that surrounds us.
We call it “Þúfa”. The name is an old Icelandic word meaning “tuft of grass”. It comes from the moss pads growing in the lava around our house. The house is located in “Vogar” and it is part of our family property. It streches from Lake Mývatn far back into the highlands.
We live in the middle of a volcanic landscape that is thousands of years old, surrounded by birches, mosses, lichens, wild herbs, berries, grazing sheep and wild animals. With a direct view onto the lake and its pseudo craters, our house is part of the breathtaking landscape of Mývatn. It is a house with soul and personaity, a place where our guests can feel at home and experience Iceland and its beauty in harmony with nature.
